Have you ever wondered what to serve with your slow cooker meals? Here are some ideas if you feel like you need to "join in".

  • Sandwich. For some of these wonderful slow cooker dishes, you may want to include a side sandwich (such as with soups) like a grilled cheese sandwich. Some awesome sandwich combinations can be found here, but you can be creative and use what you have such as: B. Use ham slices as the outside of a "wrap" and fill it with a slice of cheese, spinach, dill pickle slices and roasted red peppers. This packaging is a favorite in our home.
  • Side salad. Perhaps a simple cucumber and avocado salad or one of those kid-friendly pasta salads would complement your slow cooker meal. Or maybe a simple green salad with romaine, spinach, tomato, cucumber, carrot, and dressing would satisfy your lettuce cravings.
  • Vegetables. Have frozen vegetables handy so they can be quickly microwaved and used as a side dish. We always have black-eyed peas, peas, and other canned beans and peas in cans ready for a quick side too. When we're in a hurry, instead of frying onions for the vegetables, we use onion and / or garlic powder.
  • fruit. Fresh, seasonal fruit is always welcome as a side dish. Or you can serve a fruit salad like this apple-cinnamon-Waldorf salad. We also have a selection of frozen fruit available in case we run out of freshness.
  • Leftovers. Another idea is to serve a leftover piece of leftover chicken with a slow cooker dish like pumpkin macaroni and cheese.

Once you've done your prep and thrown it all in, there are dozens of other things to do on your list!
