Greek turkey burger
These Greek turkey burgers are so tasty, and I love that they can be served two different ways. Serve on a toasted wholemeal bun with butter lettuce, cucumber slices, thin red onion slices, sliced tomatoes, and some Greek yogurt or as a main course without the bread that comes with rice, tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onions. For some other turkey burger recipes, try my Naked Greek Feta Zucchini Turkey Burger or Turkey Burger with Zucchini.

These Greek turkey burgers mixed with Kalamata olives, feta and spinach combine all of my favorite Greek flavors and can be served with or without a bun.
- 1 ½ lb 93% lean turkey
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/3 Cup Kalamata olives, finely chopped
- 3 Ounces crumbled feta cheese
- 1 Cup finely chopped and packaged fresh spinach
- prize each sea salt and black pepper
- Olive oil spray
-
Preheat the oven to 420 ° F.
-
Put all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.
-
Take out a large handful of meat, roll it into a ball, and flatten it to form a pie about 1 ½ inch thick. Repeat with the remaining meat to make 5 large patties of equal size.
-
Once the patties are shaped, use your thumb to make a shallow indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from forming a dome as you cook.
-
Set a large, non-stick ovenproof pan over medium heat and lightly spray it with olive oil. When the pan is hot, add the patties.
-
Cook on one side for 3 to 4 minutes until the edges are brown and seared, then turn the patties.
-
Cook for another minute, then place the entire pan in the oven until the internal temperature is 9 to 11 minutes.
-
You can also bake them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil for 8 to 10 minutes.
-
Enjoy this as a burger with toasted wholegrain rolls, butter lettuce, cucumber slices, thin red onion slices (optional), tomato slices and some Greek yogurt instead of mayo. Or combine a patty with lettuce, rice, quinoa, or even roasted vegetables!
