Here’s why you should drive the Toyota Hybrid Range

When it comes to getting around, the all-new Toyota Hybrid range offers style, performance and that all-important fuel efficiency.

From the launch of the legendary Toyota Prius, which awakened the world to the possibilities of combining gasoline propulsion with clean electric power, came a new future of intelligent cars. A future where South Africans have more choice in cleaner, more efficient driving.

FCB Joburg cooperates with Toyota

According to Tasneem Lorgat, senior advertising manager at Toyota South Africa Motors; “FCB Joburg’s first task was to figure out how Toyota Hybrids could improve the driving experience while debunking all the myths surrounding hybrid technology.” everyone knew we wanted it; we just didn’t know we wanted it yet.

And this is where the 360∞ advertising campaign comes into play. Tian van den Heever, FCB Johannesburg Executive Creative Director said: “It wasn’t just about the 4 new hybrid cars, it was about the world’s leading hybrid technology and how it enriches our lives. It was time to introduce the future; and “Hello Future” spoke about this innovation. To showcase benefits that many would not have believed possible, not to mention that they are available and proudly made in South Africa.”

How a Toyota Hybrid works

Lorgat reiterated: “There are some misconceptions about how hybrids work.” FCB Joburg has grappled with these “myths”. For example, your hybrid can automatically switch to electric mode when stationary or in city traffic, without consuming fuel and drastically reducing CO2 emissions. At higher speeds, the car will automatically switch to petrol to speed up your commute.

Van den Heever added: “This led to a new approach for Toyota as a whole. First, show the whole range instead of just concentrating on one model. But more than that, how this forward-thinking world opened up a more expressive tone for Toyota South Africa Motors.” With a range of Toyota hybrid cars to choose from, you can now reap the benefits of fuel economy while still accommodating your lifestyle needs, from bundu bashing to clean Parking in tight parking spaces.

This new tone was evident in the campaign’s electrifying, tech-inspired look and feel. After all, the purpose of the campaign was not just to sell a car, but to promote a sustainable lifestyle inspired by sustainable technology.

Because isn’t it time to say hello to the future?
